Pink Leucistic Axolotl in Lake Xochimilco – illustration

Illustration of a Leucistic Axolotl in the waters of Lake Xochimilco. This variant of Axolotl is not native to the wild, they are naturally grayish-black but the “pink” variant is popular amongst Axolotl lovers.

Axolotls are native to Mexico and are only found in two lakes, one of them being Lake Xochimilco. The Salamander is named after the mexican god of fire and lightning, Xolotl.
