The lion represents the old British Empire, identified by the British flag “red crosses” on it’s face and paws.
The British empire back in the 17th century was one of the colonies involved in the Atlantic slave trade, where Africans were take from West Africa to the Americas for Slavery.
Wearing a black and white cloak, the cloak pattern is based on the 1781 British slave ship Brooks.
