“Black cat living on the edge, not afraid to die” – panther illustration

Illustration of a blue and black panther wrestling with a long, barbed red vine. The vine sticks it’s poisoned barbs into the panther’s fur, slowly contaminating it with sickness. A strong spotlight shines on the panther from above.

The barbed red vine and the spotlight represent systematic racism and how it targets black people. The spotlight has no dimension and is not on the same plane as the panther; oftentimes the things targeting black people hold no weight in practicality.

This is Apart of my Panther series, aimed to be uplifting and inspirational for the black community. Panthers are a symbol of strength and resilience for our culture.
